As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building these systems, leveraging your expertise in technology choices, platform architecture, design procedures, and best practices to construct frameworks that address complex business problems. Key Responsibilities Apply broad knowledge of technology choices, platform architecture, design procedures, and best practices across the Data Engineering environment to build systems that address business issues. Construct systems and datasets using programming best practices, data management essentials, data storage principles, late advances in distributed systems, and operational excellence best practices. Analyze source systems, define critical data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data models, and document the design/specifications. Demonstrate passion for quality and efficiency by utilizing efficient development methods, standards, and guidelines. Effectively communicate with different teams and stakeholders, escalate technical and administrative issues intelligently, and resolve conflicts. Peer review work, actively mentor other team members, improving their skills, their knowledge of our systems, and their ability to deliver results. Essential Qualifications 3+ years of non-temporary professional programming development experience. 3+ years of non-temporary job design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience. Experience programming with at least one programming language. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of full programming development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Skill and Competency Requirements To succeed in this role, you will need to possess a combination of technical, business, and soft skills, including: Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Experience with data management technologies, including relational databases, NoSQL databases, and data warehousing. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Understanding of data architecture principles, including data modeling, data governance, and data quality. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.
