Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our team at arenaflex. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will provide numerical modeling and analysis services to support critical financial, operational, and strategic planning decisions. You will participate in supporting project teams in value-added activities that generate practical solutions to complex business problems, explore new business opportunities, and drive improvement in business decisions. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the strategy and methodologies to define and solve management problems through quantitative analysis and analytical models using statistics, machine learning, forecasting procedures, and structured programming languages Identify, analyze, or solve large complex problems using big data and statistics, forecasting, and machine learning principles Use understanding of the business cycle to identify and implement statistical, forecasting, and machine learning solutions that will result in significant bottom-line contributions Build and develop statistical, forecasting, and machine learning model applications, and provide client support using operations research data Participate in model design, modeling, and model development for multiple initiatives that occur concurrently, and engage with product delivery teams Raise concerns when the scope of analysis may not align with time available and can select an appropriate scope of analysis to conduct, adjusting return on investment to time available Design scientific solution/develop hypotheses to test Understand the limitations of analysis (what it can and cannot be used for) Anticipate team questions to data and approach Identify solution quality risks and on-time risks Understand the business value, process, and assumptions before focusing on the selection of a technical solution Grasp the intuition behind the numbers (e.g., does it make sense?) Provide ongoing analytical services to client organizations Deliver results to management and clients Contribute deck content and build the story for the deck with guidance to summarize findings Create and deliver presentations aligned with company norms Communicate in a way suitable for working group and their level +1 Stay informed about the latest scientific methods and research in the statistics, forecasting, machine learning, and analysis fields Qualifications Essential Qualifications Postgraduate degree (PhD or ABD) in Statistics or other related quantitative discipline, including quantitative research and use of advanced statistical methods Coursework or work experience with statistics or possibly forecasting methods Coursework or work experience with model prototyping through the use of statistical package(s), including SAS or SPSS, Minitab, or BI tools Coursework or work experience with C, C++, Java, R, Python, or other structured programming language Excellent business, technical, verbal/written communication, presentation, and sales skills Flexibility to adapt to changing business environments Ability to work with MS Office Successful completion of an interview required to meet job qualifications Strong, reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of the position Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Minor in Computer Science, as well as formal high-level Computer Science coursework 2+ years of professional experience in a statistical field 1+ years of airline business experience 1+ years of planning and programming/coding knowledge structures for large-scale computer models Experience with Julia programming language Knowledge of arenaflex/industry data sources Programming for large-scale computer models Demonstrated ability to create business value Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
