Key Responsibilities: Provide instructional support to students with special needs, working closely with teachers to implement individualized lesson plans and activities. Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and other support staff to inform instruction and drive student growth. Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behavior, social skills, and emotional regulation in students with special needs. Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of all students. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and to enhance your skills and knowledge. Essential Qualifications: Active teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s). Substitute Authorization (or in the process of obtaining if license is expired). Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor. Complete a background check for Scoot Education (reimbursed on your first paycheck) and the Colorado Department of Education (not reimbursed). Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. Experience working with students with diverse needs, including those with autism, mild/moderate/severe disabilities, and other special needs. Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of special education principles, practices, and laws. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with students with diverse needs and abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to collaborate with teachers and other support staff. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment.
