**Experienced Student Success Center Coordinator – Academic Support and Retention Specialist**

We're seeking an experienced Student Success Center Coordinator to join our team at the University of South Carolina. As a key member of our Academic Affairs department, you will play a vital role in supporting students, faculty, and staff across our campus. About the Position As our ideal candidate, you will possess a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for supporting students. Your primary responsibilities will include: Key Responsibilities * Assist the Associate Dean with various tasks, including typing and copying correspondence, reports, and related materials for the Academic Dean and assigned faculty. * Maintain academic files and ensure strict confidentiality and adherence to FERPA guidelines. * Prepare travel forms for faculty, receive and sort incoming and outgoing mail, and answer the office's main phone line. * Provide general support to students seeking assistance with setting up their Self-Service Carolina/Blackboard/DUO Mobile accounts, registering their classes in Self-Service Carolina, and navigating their Blackboard course sites. * Oversee the Student Academic Success Center, including identifying, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating tutors. * Plan and execute Center events and workshops, support social media presence, and maintain important university resources for students. * Develop and implement a retention plan that specifies effective retention and success initiatives, using data to assess efficacy and communicate the plan to university stakeholders. * Maintain an academic advising load of USC Union students seeking an Associate degree and assist with special campus events and other administrative duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications * Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution * Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and work well with administration, faculty, staff, students, and the general public * Ability to analyze situations, academic programs, and problems, with a focus on finding solutions and implementing effective strategies * Organized, dependable, and trustworthy, with a strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality * Familiarity with USC Union Academic Programs and USC database familiarity (preferred) Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree from an accredited institution * Experience working in academic support or student affairs, with a focus on retention and success initiatives * Knowledge of Class Climate, Academic Advising, and other relevant training opportunities * Familiarity with Blackboard and other learning management systems Skills and Competencies * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite * Familiarity with Blackboard and other learning management systems Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As a member of our team, you will have access to a range of career growth opportunities, including: * Professional development and training opportunities, including Class Climate, Academic Advising, and other relevant training programs * Opportunities to work with a diverse range of students, faculty, and staff across our campus * A dynamic and supportive work environment that values collaboration and innovation * A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off Work Environment and Company Culture Our campus is a vibrant and inclusive community that values academic excellence, creativity, and innovation.
