Experienced Student Success Coach – Remote Academic Support and Guidance Specialist

About the Role The Student Success Coach is responsible for assisting students throughout their education program with blithequark. In this role, you will be speaking with students over the phone and responding to inquiries received through our systems. Working from your home office, you will have an assigned schedule during our hours of operation, which define a 40-hour work week. We are open Monday-Thursday 8am to 7pm CDT, and Friday & Saturday 8am to 5pm CDT, and we hire people from all time zones that have availability during our hours of operation, in support of our students. Key Responsibilities Support enrollment, student development, and retention services while ensuring a quality learning experience. Manage a group of assigned students and coach each through their degree program, through proactive and timely outreach. Encourage and support students through daily and weekly outreach as they work to develop skills and knowledge for academic success. Provide a trusted environment where students can share their thoughts, aspirations, concerns, and interests. Offer and teach students how to use resources to help maximize the success of each student. Become a certified resume reviewer to provide resume and career development support. Be a liaison for students, enabling them to connect with various departments. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent) Two or more years of experience in academic/admissions support, customer service, human resources, and/or counseling essential Knowledge of academic policies and procedures Ability to learn technical skills quickly Excellent communication/listening skills, including a pleasant phone manner Strong customer support focus and attention to details Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a remote or virtual environment Familiarity with student information systems and learning management systems Certification in resume writing or career development Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying learning needs Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
