About the Telecom Organization The Telecom organization is at the forefront of Disney's technological innovations, responsible for in-depth analysis, testing, operational engineering, and software configuration for all telecom systems across Disney Experiences. The team's responsibilities include content delivery planning, interactive device design, server upgrades, consumables monitoring, evaluating hardware, and testing new and upcoming technologies and code. As a Technical Specialist - Telecom, you will be part of a team that manages vendor MSP on system currency, software security, and network change activities, and collaborates with multiple business units to facilitate new implementations of video and interactive technology. Key Responsibilities As a Technical Specialist - Telecom, your primary responsibilities will include: Providing governance to the WDW Telecom program and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices Offering hands-on support for interactive installations, server upgrades, video installations, emergency maintenance, and outage resolution to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction Providing onsite consultation to customers and ensuring operational support of the Telecom environment to maintain SLAs and Disney standards Preparing and presenting metrics on uptime, usage, trends, and opportunities to stakeholders and leadership teams Ensuring the Telecom network maintains software and security currency, and managing replacement and backup parts for all installations Providing level 2 support to triage the break/fix of any Telecom devices tracked through Service NOW, and performing in-depth troubleshooting with field technicians Partnering with Resort Engineering Team, FAM, OSI, and WDI to deliver efficient technical solutions and collaborating with other DPEP teams and service suppliers Assisting on software patches and upgrades, providing oversight of local delivery of consumables by vendors, and managing vendor relationships Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess: 3+ years of experience in the AV/Technology Industry, with a strong understanding of various video and audio vendor applications 1+ years of network switching and routing experience, with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP Workplace, and Service NOW A strong understanding of enterprise video distribution support, sustainment, and implementation, as well as network security standards and industry best practices Demonstrated ability to handle escalations and outages, with strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to hit targeted due dates and manage competing priorities Willingness to learn new software applications, work weekends and/or after-hours as required, and self-organizing and motivated approach to work Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: 5+ years of experience in the AV or technology Industry, with experience in video distribution, encoding, audio integrations, and IOT devices 3+ years of network switching and routing experience, with a passion for interactive and video systems and solutions Associate's degree in computer science, video technology, information systems, engineering, mathematics, data analytics, or other related scientific or technical discipline, or appropriate certifications and equivalent work experience Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you should possess: Strong technical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing priorities Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Strong knowledge of industry trends and technologies, with a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Disney, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
