Faculty Development Specialist

The Faculty Development Specialist will design and coordinate onboarding for faculty, assess faculty performance, and deliver development programs to enhance pedagogical skills. Responsibilities Collaboratively design and coordinate disaggregated onboarding/orientation for faculty aligned with modalities of teaching assignments (didactic, experiential, online) delivery Provide regular and ongoing reporting of new faculty performance in onboarding activities to hiring managers for future planning/contingency Conduct follow-up conversations with new faculty over first term of teaching to ensure support and alignment with university expectations Identify, maintain, and publish electronic resources for new faculty in the Center for Teaching and Learning Calibrate faculty evaluation measures with faculty managers to ensure consistency in the evaluation of faculty Provide recommendations to university leadership regarding faculty evaluation policies and procedures Develop and implement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of faculty development programs Organize and deliver the university faculty recognition program Coordinate and support practitioner as faculty model by collaborating with faculty to assess teaching needs and develop innovative curriculum and instructional strategies Design and deliver faculty development workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance pedagogical skills, including the integration of technology and active learning methodologies Develop and maintain faculty development resources via the Center for Teaching and Learning Contribute to the implementation of a robust and multi-faceted program of faculty development to support the development of faculty competencies and instructional excellence in all instructional modalities, programs, and campuses across the University Support campus/department/modality faculty development that is informed by student learning and faculty evaluation data Coordinate regular training with vendor partners for new and existing faculty Facilitate faculty learning events in multiple modalities; including synchronous classroom and web-based instruction, asynchronous learning modules Provide one-on-one coaching and feedback sessions with individual faculty members Skills Master's degree One year of experience in faculty training, support, evaluation, and/or instructional practice Experience in education of a programmatic area offered at the University, with a strong background in teaching in a variety of modalities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with diverse faculty members Experience in faculty development, coaching, or mentoring is preferred Benefits Tuition waiver and reimbursement program Health insurance Paid time off Retirement savings plan Company Overview Herzing University provides students with career-oriented classes, flexible scheduling, and supportive faculty and staff.
