We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated paralegal with 5+ years of experience (1+ years family law) to provide case management support and client support and help keep cases organized and on track. California residents only please. This role centers on expert case management, comprehensive client communication, and meticulous compiling and subsequent filing and tracking of essential legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, and judgments. The emphasis is on ensuring cases progress smoothly and that clients are exceptionally supported, rather than on extensive legal research, drafting motions, or trial prep. Primary responsibilities include: Document Management • Prepare and e-file documents in Family Court • Maintain client databases and files • Organize and compile documents for attorneys • Prepare pleadings, discovery, and judgments Calendaring and Scheduling • Maintain calendars for attorneys • Schedule meetings, depositions, and mediations • Calculate, calendar and track case-related deadlines Communication • Drive client experience, front line • Handle initial client intake and basic information gathering • Provide routine weekly updates to clients, response to client inquiries • Keep lead counsel informed of urgent matters and changes in case activity • Respond to client inquiries, keep clients informed on case status • Manage and maintain basic case information and case notes • Manage logistics with the clerk's office, and court rooms Filing and Documentation • Prepare basic legal documents and forms • Assist clients with discovery and prepare discovery • File paperwork with local, state, and federal courts • Organize financial documents for cases The ideal candidate will have: • 5+ years’ experience as a paralegal, with 1+ year family law • Experience and desire working remotely a plus • Understanding of family law and court procedures • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities • Ability to work independently and also as part of a team • Paralegal certificate and/or Associates degree in paralegal studies preferred; Bachelor's degree a plus We offer a competitive pay at between $35 to $40 per hour with flexible schedule and time off options.
