Our financial counselors play a vital role in delivering personalized financial guidance and support to clients experiencing acute financial distress. By partnering with mental health professionals, we help clients develop actionable financial recovery plans, manage debt, and create a path towards long-term financial stability. Job Summary As a Financial Counselor at MoneyStack, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one financial counseling to clients affected by problem gambling. You will assess each client's financial situation, provide expert advice on managing debt, budgeting, and long-term financial planning, and collaborate with behavioral health treatment providers to ensure clients' financial plans align with their recovery goals. Key Responsibilities Financial Counseling: Provide personalized financial counseling to clients affected by problem gambling, helping them create actionable financial recovery plans. Financial Assessment: Assess each client's financial situation, provide advice on managing debt, budgeting, and long-term financial planning. Collaboration: Collaborate with behavioral health treatment providers to ensure clients' financial plans align with their recovery goals. Record-Keeping: Keep detailed records of client sessions, ensuring compliance with both company policies and state regulations. Additional Responsibilities External Speaking Engagements: Represent the company at industry conferences, webinars, and other events to promote financial literacy and awareness of problem gambling. Financial Education Content Development: Create resources and educational materials for GamFin, our online financial education and support community. Client Meetings: Occasionally attend meetings with state government administrators and other key stakeholders. Qualifications Your Experience AFC Accreditation or Equivalent: Must have earned AFC accreditation, CFP certification, or equivalent financial counseling and/or planning designation with at least 1000 experience hours to obtain the designation. Professional Experience: At least 3 years of professional work experience in financial counseling or a related field. Technical Skills: Experience working with office productivity tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack). Remote Work Experience: Have worked both independently and as part of a remote team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
