Fractional Chief Operating Officer / Operations Lead (Agency) - Contract to Hire
Overview We are a fast-growing creative and growth agency working with e-commerce brands, health & wellness companies, medical professionals, and creators/influencers to build high-performing offers, marketing assets, and campaigns. We are looking for a Fractional Chief Operating Officer (COO) who can act as the right-hand to the founder — someone who can take direction quickly, translate vision into execution, and run the day-to-day operations of the business with minimal hand-holding. This is not a theoretical or strategy-only role. This is an execution-first leadership position. Day-to-Day Operations & Execution Own the daily operations of the agency Ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard, and without founder involvement Act as the central point of accountability across: Editors Copywriters Developers Production teams Project managers Improve and enforce execution standards and quality control 2. Team Management & Delegation Manage a team of ~10 freelancers and contractors Hold team members accountable to deadlines and deliverables Identify underperformance and take action (replace, restructure, or improve) Push the team from reactive → proactive / async Improve internal workflows, documentation, and SOPs 3. Client & Partner Liaison Communicate directly with clients when required Handle client updates, delivery timelines, and issue resolution Reduce founder involvement in client communication wherever possible Maintain professional, clear, and fast communication at all times 4. Talent & Creator Operations Support operations involving: Medical professionals working as brand ambassadors Influencers and creators collaborating on offer creation Coordinate deliverables, timelines, and execution across talent-based projects Ensure smooth collaboration between talent, production, and internal teams 5. Quality Control & Risk Prevention Be the final checkpoint for: Broken processes Missed details Sloppy execution Spot issues before they become problems Ensure nothing “breaks” when the founder is unavailable What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days): Projects are delivered consistently without chasing or micromanagement Team communication becomes structured, proactive, and reliable Client issues are handled without escalation The founder can focus almost entirely on growth, partnerships, and revenue Revenue increases as a direct result of freed-up founder time Non-Negotiables: What colour is the sky?
