Fractional CMO / VP of Marketing (DTC CPG) Location: Remote, Greater Boston Preferred Type: Part-Time / Fractional (10–20 hrs/week to start) Compensation: Monthly retainer + performance incentives; equity/co-founder path available for the right candidate Reports to: Co-Founders Overview We are a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer CPG brand building a modern, capital-efficient growth engine across paid, owned, and organic channels. We’re seeking a Fractional CMO or VP of Marketing to own strategy, execution, and performance accountability across our marketing stack. This is a hands on keyboard role. This role is ideal for a senior DTC operator who has scaled CPG brands, understands modern ad platforms and AI-driven creative workflows, and can bring discipline to marketing P&L management—while working collaboratively with (or replacing, if needed) an external agency. There is a potential co-founder path for candidates who are excited to invest personal capital and help shape long-term brand and growth strategy. Responsibilities Growth & Performance Leadership • Own marketing strategy across paid, owned, and earned channels with a focus on profitable growth • Set and manage the marketing P&L, CAC/LTV targets, contribution margin, and channel-level ROI • Establish weekly/monthly performance dashboards and testing roadmaps • Translate high-level growth goals into executable plans Paid Media & Acquisition • Oversee Meta Ads Manager strategy (hands-on experience required) • Guide creative testing frameworks, audience strategy, and budget allocation • Partner with or backfill external ad agencies; hold them accountable to performance benchmarks • Identify opportunities across emerging channels as appropriate (TikTok, YouTube, etc.) Creative, AI & Brand Execution • Leverage AI tools for digital design, creative iteration, and rapid testing • Direct creative briefs for ads, landing pages, and social content • Maintain brand consistency while increasing creative velocity Email, CRM & Retention • Own Klaviyo strategy including flows, campaigns, segmentation, and lifecycle journeys • Optimize retention, repeat purchase rate, and customer lifetime value • Align email/SMS strategy with paid and organic initiatives Organic Social & Community • Define and oversee organic social content strategy and cadence • Ensure alignment between brand voice, content, and performance goals • Build a repeatable system for content creation and distribution Leadership & Collaboration • Serve as the senior marketing operator internally • Collaborate closely with the founder on growth priorities and capital allocation • Build lightweight systems that scale without unnecessary headcount Ideal Candidate Profile • 5+ years of marketing experience with DTC CPG brands • Prior experience as a CMO, VP of Marketing, or Head of Growth • Deep working knowledge of: • Meta Ads Manager (hands-on) • Google GA4 (hands-on) • Klaviyo (flows, campaigns, segmentation) • AI-driven creative and digital design tools (adobe, nano banana, etc) • Microinfluencer scouting and management • Organic social design and copy • Marketing P&L ownership and forecasting • Proven ability to scale revenue efficiently while managing CAC and ROAS • Comfortable working in an early-stage, founder-led environment • Clear communicator who can balance strategy with execution Compensation & Structure • Part-time, fractional engagement (10–20 hours/week initially) • Monthly retainer with performance-based upside • Equity or co-founder role available for candidates willing to personally invest capital and take on deeper ownership Why This Role • Real authority and accountability—not a “figurehead” role • Ability to shape the brand, systems, and growth engine from the ground up • Optional co-founder path for true builders, not consultants • Lean, modern, execution-focused culture Apply tot his job
