Overview Join our dynamic logistics team as a Freight Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link ensuring seamless coordination of freight movement and transportation operations. In this energetic role, you'll leverage your expertise in transportation management systems, GPS technology, and supply chain logistics to optimize freight dispatching processes. Your proactive communication skills and analysis abilities will drive efficiency, support fleet management, and enhance overall transportation planning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of logistics operations, ensuring timely deliveries and smooth shipping & receiving activities. Responsibilities • Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to ensure timely delivery. • Utilize GPS and GIS tools to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve transportation efficiency. • Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams via multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette to relay dispatch instructions clearly. • Manage data entry tasks related to freight movements, shipping & receiving logs, and transportation documentation with accuracy and attention to detail. • Oversee fleet management activities including vehicle dispatching, tracking via GPS, and maintenance scheduling to ensure operational readiness. • Collaborate with 3PL providers and internal teams to coordinate shipping schedules, freight loads, and delivery priorities. • Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements within the supply chain and logistics operations. Experience • Proven experience in dispatching within a transportation or logistics environment, with familiarity in freight coordination and shipping & receiving procedures. • Strong understanding of transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or AS400 is highly preferred. • Demonstrated analysis skills with the ability to interpret GPS data, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning software. • Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette for engaging with drivers, carriers, and internal stakeholders. • Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and managing multi-line phone systems in a fast-paced setting. • Knowledge of fleet management practices including vehicle tracking via GPS and maintenance scheduling is a plus. • Experience working with logistics software like SyteLine or similar ERP systems enhances operational efficiency.
