Join our dynamic team as a full-stack software engineer focused on ML infrastructure and internal tooling who will be responsible for building mission-critical systems that bridge internal users, machine learning models, and RAG services. Your work will enable model evaluation, dataset triage, simulation control, and deployment workflows for cutting-edge LLM-powered platforms supporting autonomous systems and defense applications. Responsibilities: Web Apps & APIs • Build front-end interfaces in React and backend services in FastAPI to support dataset triage, model evaluation, and simulation workflows • Develop clean, maintainable Rest/gRPC APIs for tool integrations • Document interfaces and CLI tooling for both internal and field users LLM Platform Development • Integrate RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines using LangChain, Milvus, PGVector, and Ollama • Deploy semantic search and generation features against internal technical documents and flight data • Implement evaluation mechanisms for LLM outputs UX & Automation • Build intuitive interfaces and workflows tailored to non-ML engineers and mission operators • Implement access control and RBAC logic for internal platforms • Maintain reliable automation across CLI, dashboard, and backend flows Dev Experience & Testing • Set up component testing using Storybook and CI-friendly unit/integration test and infrastructure • Contribute to developer onboarding and internal tooling documentation Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 3-5 years experience (mid-level) or 5-7 years experience (senior-level) experience in full-stack development, preferably in aerospace or defense • Proficiency in TypeScript, React and Python • Experience with REST or gRPC APIs • Familiarity with vector databases and embedding frameworks (e.g., Milvus, PGVector, etc.) • Strong product sensibility and user-oriented mindset • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment • Experience with WebGL/Three.js for 3D visualization (preferred) • Familiarity with Tailwind UI or other modern frontend component libraries (preferred) • Understanding of designing for observability (preferred) What's in it for you: Benefits: • Competitive total compensation package • Comprehensive benefit package options include medical, dental, vision, life, and more. • 401k with company-match • 4 weeks of paid time off each year • 12 annual company holidays Why Join Zone 5 Technologies? • Innovative Environment: Work on cutting-edge technology that is shaping the future of defense and aerospace. • Collaborative Culture: Join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible. • Career Growth: Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
