Full Stack Ruby Developer, Description This is a remote position. Are you a Ruby Wizard? My client needs someone that can come in and pull apart a product made in Ruby and understand how it was made and then teach other engineers. We need someone who can come into the product and fix some bugs and also build it out along with fixing client bugs. Our client is looking for a sparky and engaged full-stack developer, who cares about their craft, all the way from shadows on buttons to tuning db throughput. You will need product development experience - we need someone who can help drive product topics as well as handle the implementations. You will relish the challenge to be able to both talk to colleagues and figure out solutions. We’re anticipating the person would be able to step up to a lead position in the future too! LOCATION A small and fully distributed team, spanning 15 countries from the Australia to the US. They take pride in their ability to function as an effective remote organisation. We keep things simple - thee stages interviews and the job is done THIS SOUNDS GREAT, BUT WHAT EXACTLY ARE WE LOOKING FOR? The product will be your personal kingdom. We want someone who can effectively push forward on getting features out the door, making sure it doesn't blow up, and knowing how to clean up the pieces if something does go wrong. We're using Heroku, Rails and a usual suspect react app on top. There's nothing surprising or edgy there - and hopefully this will be a familiar setup to you. Attitude and motivation are as important as knowing how a particular DB migration tool works. You won't be in isolation - our client has a vibrant internal developer community, and we are all there to help if you wish, or just for discussion of the state of the art. You're good at... Balancing user needs against abstract technical objectives, and figuring out just the right amount of flavour to sprinkle in the development soup. But you're secretly a super hero at... If you can actually draw an owl, we'll be really impressed. And last but not least... We're a scale-up, they're not for everyone, but if you roll with the punches like Muhammad Ali, can cope with changes in direction like a wind sock and love a bit of ambiguity mixed with some autonomy, we're confident you have a place here.
