Fully Remote Cyber Security Engineer

About the position Actalent is hiring a fully remote Cyber Engineer for a client in the Nuclear Industry. Position is full time, and offers PTO, benefits, etc. This position offers a great quality of life with no long hours, travel, or on-call demands, providing an opportunity to design and build systems in a growing organization expanding into the construction of nuclear facilities. This position leads the development and execution of cyber security engineering strategies and activities in support of a nuclear facility/plant design and engineering teams. This role integrates the cyber security philosophy into the design of nuclear plant information and operational technology systems and is responsible for the implementation and assessment of cyber security systems. Responsibilities • Lead the execution of core tasks and responsibilities without close supervision and extensive latitude for independent judgment. • Lead strategic security relationships between internal resources and external entities, including government, customers, vendors, and partner organizations. • Apply industry expertise to architect, develop, implement, maintain, and oversee cybersecurity tools and policies. • Provide advanced support to troubleshoot complex issues and architect new solutions. • Lead advanced threat hunt operations using known adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures. • Develop and produce reports on all activities and incidents to maintain day-to-day status and provide situational awareness. • Identify and remediate control weaknesses. • Review data with firewall administrators, engineering, system administrators, and other appropriate groups to determine the risk of security events. • Perform complex information security analysis work. • Develop and recommend plans to safeguard computer/server/network configurations and data files. • Lead the performance and review of technical risk assessments and new and existing applications. • Develop and implement systems and procedures to prevent, detect, contain, and correct data security breaches. Requirements • Nuclear digital design experience • Experience with Industrial Control System (ICS) • Operational Technology (OT) experience • Automation expertise • Knowledge of NEI 08-09, RG 5.71, NIST 800-82, 10 CFR 7354 • 15+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, network security, or related fields • Expert knowledge and experience managing cybersecurity tools such as NDR, EDR, and SIEM • Experience with Splunk, Azure, and AWS Nice-to-haves • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a similar technical degree • Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) • Experience with nuclear cyber security regulations • One or more of the following certifications: CISSP, CISA, GCIH, GPEN, Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional • Experience with Identity and Access Management technologies including Federation, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) • Experience with cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps • Knowledge of Networking, Firewall, and software-defined networking • Experience integrating cybersecurity tools to support an Enterprise level Cybersecurity program • Skills in leveraging AI, ML, and Orchestration to secure the environment Benefits • Medical, dental & vision • Critical Illness, Accident, and Hospital • 401(k) Retirement Plan - Pre-tax and Roth post-tax contributions available • Life Insurance (Voluntary Life & AD&D for the employee and dependents) • Short and long-term disability • Health Spending Account (HSA) • Transportation benefits • Employee Assistance Program • Time Off/Leave (PTO, Vacation or Sick Leave) Apply tot his job
