Functional Tester with Strong SQL API
About the role As a Functional Tester with Strong SQL & API, you will make an impact by ensuring software quality through comprehensive manual testing, with a strong focus on SQL and API testing using Postman. You will be a valued member of the QA team and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. In this role, you will: • Assess software quality through manual testing and validate APIs using Postman. • Review and analyze system specifications and collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective test strategies and plans. • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results to ensure compliance with specifications. • Create logs to document testing phases and defects and report bugs to development teams. • Troubleshoot issues and conduct post-release/post-implementation testing. • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. What you need to have to be considered • 6+ years of experience as Functional QA Tester • Strong knowledge of API testing using Postman. • Proficiency in SQL, including writing complex joins. • Experience working in Agile environments. • Hands-on experience with JIRA for test case management and defect tracking. • Solid understanding of functional testing concepts. • Familiarity with automation concepts (good to have). These will help you stand out • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively. • Strong collaboration and communication skills. • Experience in post-release validation and regression testing. • Exposure to automation tools and frameworks. Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until 01/09/2026. The annual salary for this position is between $53,477- $92,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
