Lead the Way: General Manager Position at Dreams Madeira Resort Spa & Marina (5-Star Resort) We are looking for a dynamic and operational General Manager to lead the team at Dreams Madeira Resort Spa & Marina, part of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, an operational mindset, and a proven track record in managing upscale or resort operations. A background in resorts or large‑scale hospitality operations is strongly preferred. Portuguese‑speaking candidates are highly desirable, though not mandatory. Your mission: As General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the resort, ensuring the highest standards of guest experience, financial performance, employee engagement, and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the regional leadership, you will lead a team of department heads and drive the culture and vision of the Hyatt brand. Your main responsibilities will be: • Lead and inspire all departments, maintaining alignment with Hyatt brand standards and company values • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction, consistently exceeding expectations across all touchpoints • Collaborate with department heads to develop and implement strategic plans across operations, finance, F&B, rooms division, wellness, and guest services • Maintain strong financial oversight with focus on profitability, budget control, forecasting, and long‑term planning • Oversee compliance with local regulations, health & safety standards, and corporate policies • Promote a working environment that values wellbeing, diversity, and personal development • Be the face of the hotel – establishing relationships with guests, the community, local government, and key stakeholders • Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and continuous improvement within the team What you’ll love about us: • Complimentary access to a comprehensive Wellness Platform, with a strong focus on mental health and holistic wellbeing • A clear path for career development and internal promotion opportunities within the Hyatt family worldwide • The opportunity to lead a flagship resort in Madeira as part of a global and fast‑growing hotel group • A purpose‑driven company culture that values people first, always, and the community Qualifications What we expect from you: • Previous experience as a General Manager in a resort or large hotel operation (minimum 2–3 years in GM role) • Experience in high‑volume resort operations, ideally with more than 300 rooms, multiple F&B outlets, and managing a workforce of up to 300 employees. • A hands‑on, operational leader who is present with the team and guest • Experience managing multicultural teams and driving performance through empowerment and engagement • Strong financial acumen and ability to work closely with the Director of Finance on budget control and planning • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and guest experience • Fluency in English is required; Portuguese preferred • Willingness to relocate and reside full‑time in Madeira, Portugal • High integrity and a genuine passion for hospitality Join us in Madeira and lead a talented team in a stunning location, under a brand that cares deeply about people and purpose. #J-18808-Ljbffr Apply tot his job
