Candidates are required to submit a cover letter with their resume . Shift: T uesday-Saturday 2pm-10pm ET Summary Performs variant interpretation and writes reports. May abstract clinical information from patient records and/or act as subject matter expert. Facilitates communication between laboratory personnel, genetic counselors and clinical staff. Supports efforts to maintain the reputation of GeneDx as a world-class healthcare company. Represents GeneDx at national and international meetings as required. Responsibilities • Performs variant interpretation and writes reports. • May act as subject matter expert for a group of genes, disorders, tests, and/or processes. • Supports team efforts required to meet corporate and team goals and objectives. • Abstracts clinical information from patient records. • Manages urgent or complex cases at specific steps or throughout the testing process. • Prepares or provides clinical review of materials for website, marketing materials, or other projects. • Assists with populating variant, gene, or disease-specific test information, report language, or other clinical information in internal databases. • Performs other duties assigned in support of the team or department. Requirements • Master’s degree from an accredited genetic counseling program. • Certification by American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or equivalent. • Genetic counseling licensure in the state where the employee works, if applicable. Nice-to-haves • Prior clinical or laboratory experience preferred but not required.
