#PC671 Number of openings -1 The GIS manger directs, plans, and advises on all GIS-related activities currently engaged by the GIS team. The manager has deep technical knowledge, extensive consulting experience, and is savvy managing others personally and professionally. The manager sets goals for all team members and plans the organization of the team. At the same time, he or she manages the priority level and focus regarding all projects, ultimately deciding what each person on the team is responsible for, and making those priorities match the organization’s. The manager solicits and acts on feedback from the company on long-term team priorities and employee performance. Requirements: · Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, Geospatial Sciences, or similar technical field, or some equivalent of experience · 15+ years of experience working with GIS as a focus · Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must · Proven ability to achieve results · Experience managing projects and staff, developing systems and products, and acting in a consultant capacity is a must Desired but not Required: o Highly experienced individual with a diverse history of managing GIS in multiple industries and projects o Through this experience has learned the various pitfalls and hurdles of working with GIS and can advise on the best road to reach project and company goals o Experience managing projects, acting as a consultant, and building and maintaining complex systems and staff structures o Travel Expectations: Frequent travel may be required to coordinate Responsibilities: · Maintains GIS system integrity and facilitates user access and overall usage of systems · Manages and directs GIS staff on projects and system aligning them with company goals · Provides deep technical and professional expertise for junior staff and non-GIS team members · Develops new workflows and system specifications for implementation in project environments or for system improvement · Interacts with clients and subcontractors to develop integrations and data transference methods in a seamless and reliable fashion · Coordinates resources and expectations with other groups and ensures needs are being met · Advises the company on the direction of technology and systems related to GIS · Develop the vision for how the company uses GIS and how it will facilitate the company goals long term · Mentors all staff in the adoption and usage of GIS systems · Consults with clients to ascertain project purpose, needs, and information required · Manages the development of GIS software packages and evaluate the functionality of systems · Develops and maintains the GIS system growth to compliment the company’s growth Additional Comments: ITG is an equal employment opportunity employer.
