Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its geospatial solutions team as a GIS System Administrator - Level III. You may be called upon to assist with the design, development, and maintenance of geospatial applications through the concept, design, and implementation phases. Your role will also include supporting other personnel in utilizing GIS applications and software as well as interfacing with clients and teaming partners. Salary Range: $115000-$150000 annually Position Status: Full Time; with benefits Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with match, Life Insurance, and PTO KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan, design, and implement communication networks and system architectures that support enterprise GIS environments and related applications. • Provide technical support for network design activities, including review and assessment of user needs and feasibility studies for new or enhanced GIS capabilities. • Assist in the evaluation and selection of hardware, software, and related equipment for GIS and geospatial data systems. • Support component-based architectures including object-oriented, COM, and/or service-oriented architectures, and industry-standard technologies such as REST, SOAP, XML, web services, application servers, and web servers. • Support Azure Cloud work including (but not limited to) IaaS and PaaS capabilities such as Databricks, App Services, Kubernetes, containerization, Azure AD, and Key Vault. • Support Azure cloud network design and implementation for GIS workloads. • Support data modeling, ingestion, processing, analysis, and API management for geospatial systems and services. • Ensure GIS data, applications, and code are properly backed up and maintained in accordance with government instructions and quality control expectations. • Support information assurance (IA) and security controls, including documentation related to requirements, specifications, operating procedures, and cybersecurity activities. • Support the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and associated records. • Provide on-call support outside normal working hours as required by ATF operations. • Participate in and support kick-off meetings, monthly review meetings, and other recurring governance forums, including preparation of agendas, briefings, and meeting minutes as required. • Contribute to weekly, monthly, and financial reporting inputs related to GIS system operations, inventory status, vulnerability test results, and performance. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Education: Associate degree or equivalent. • Experience: 5–8 years of experience as a systems or network administrator, including responsibilities aligned with planning, designing, and implementing communication networks and supporting enterprise systems. • Demonstrated experience supporting network design activities, user needs assessment, and feasibility studies for technical projects. • Experience working with enterprise GIS or similar mission-critical systems, including integration with application servers and web services. • Experience supporting Azure cloud environments, including IaaS and PaaS services (e.g., Databricks, App Services, Kubernetes, containerization, Azure AD, Key Vault). • Ability to support component-based architectures (OO, COM, SOA) and standards-based integrations (REST, SOAP, XML, web services). • Personnel in this role must have and maintain Information Assurance Certification as outlined in AR 25-2 for system/network administrators. • Ability to meet ATF’s background investigation and personal identity verification requirements and comply with all applicable access, security, and information system training requirements. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience supporting enterprise GIS environments built on Esri’s ArcGIS family of client, server, and online software. • Experience supporting IA and security controls, RMF processes, and cybersecurity documentation in federal environments. • Experience with DevSecOps practices and source code management using Gitlab. • Experience supporting research or operational use of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and augmented/virtual reality. • Experience working with federal law enforcement, criminal intelligence, or public safety agencies is highly preferred, given the mission of ATF’s National Geospatial Intelligence Branch. • Prior work with ATF is desired, especially in support of geospatial, intelligence, or operational programs. • Prior work with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is preferred, given ATF’s role as a DOJ component.
