This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and will not have a dedicated office space, however candidates must have easy access to the Washington, DC area. Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free work space and an internet connection that's sufficient for completing their job remotely. Job Summary This position, which reports to the General Manager, Government Affairs, is intended to focus attention on enhancing the Company's relationship with government at various levels, to inform government about the issues important to the Company and to help influence government decision making in order to support the Company's business objectives. This position is also responsible for tracking new legislation at the Federal and state level that might affect the Company and, at the local level, noise ordinances and laws affecting motorcycling. Job Responsibilities • Responsible for educating and keeping the Company informed about political and legislative developments that might affect its business. Devise and execute strategies with key stakeholders in order to achieve desired outcomes relative to new legislation and regulations. • Coordinate cross-functionally key departments, including Legal, Communication, and Regulatory Affairs teams. Identify opportunities to help the Company build partnerships and relationships with government entities to achieve strategic goals. • Policy issues may include, among others: vehicle regulations, tax and financial services, electric vehicle rules, manufacturing and trade policy. In particular, this role will also work closely with the LiveWire electric vehicle company to support their growth. • Responsible for helping to manage the Company's Political Action Committees and ensuring their compliance with applicable election laws. • Participates in the development of long and short-term strategies, tactics and policies and procedures. Management and collaboration with consultancy firms and associations. • The role is hybrid and not office based. As this role is primarily focused on federal lobbying, candidates should be in the Washington DC area. • Requires 10-25% travel. Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree Required Education Specifications • Position requires bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field; advanced Degree in relevant areas Preferred. Experience Requirements Required • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience. • Position requires a minimum of eight years of experience in government affairs or related activities, whether in the private or public sectors. • Must understand how government works; have knowledge and understanding of current political events and trends and have an understanding of how they potentially affect the Company, especially its product lines and service offerings for customers. • Requires a professional demeanor and excellent speaking and writing skills. • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and be looked to as a resource by various stakeholders are also required. • Ability to function in a dynamic, ambiguous environment is important, including the ability to help solve problems independently and in accordance with the values and issues identified by the Company. Preferred • Vehicle (particularly motorcycle) industry background is a plus. The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
