Graduate Plumbing Engineer (Available 2026)

The Graduate Plumbing Engineer will be responsible for designing plumbing and fire protection systems, collaborating with various stakeholders, and documenting engineering analysis work to contribute to complex building projects. Responsibilities Design of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems within the built environment, with an emphasis on sustainable design Support designing plumbing systems such as domestic water, sanitary/vent, and storm systems Support designing fire protection systems fire sprinkler and standpipe systems Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings Undertaking and documenting engineering analysis work, including code research, load calculations, and equipment sizing, in a clear manner Document system design in Revit MEP Communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshops Write reports documenting calculation methods and results, design assumptions, and other technical information The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our changing environment Influence with design on sustainable outcome for our clients to align with Arup sustainability commitment Assisting in construction administration activities such as site visits and submittal reviews Skills Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, architectural, civil, or environmental engineering Coursework in fluid hydraulics/piping/fluid dynamics Shown interest in the built environment and sustainable development Ability to collaborate with clients Good time management habits, ability to multi-task, ability to sustain focus on long tasks Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, creativity Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our changing environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed for team-based working Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future EIT/ FE certification Membership in ASPE, ASSE, ASHRAE, NFPA, or SFPE Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation Revit or 3D modeling experience Internship experience in engineering-related firm or evidence of extracurricular activity in the field Shown ability to perform in a paid work environment with intermittent supervision Past history of technical presentations and technical writing Computer programming languages (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper) Benefits Health and welfare security for you as well as paid time off for rest and renewal Global profit share scheme (payments are dependent on the firm’s financial performance) Global Profit Share Plan (paid bi-annually) 401(k) plan with up to 10% company match Company Overview Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.
