Position Summary Mashgin is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer to lead validation of Mashgin’s custom hardware platforms including cameras, hub boards, power delivery systems, and electrical harnesses. You will design and execute validation strategies from the ground up, owning everything from test planning and execution to documentation and reporting. This is a high-impact opportunity to build out a formal validation function and set the standard for future hardware programs. You will establish and own the validation lifecycle end-to-end, setting standards that ensure our hardware performs reliably in the field. This is a hybrid role that requires you to be onsite at least 2 days a week in San Jose, CA. You Will Be Developing and executing validation test plans covering functionality, stress testing, and reliability Reviewing and interpreting datasheets, schematics, and system-level designs to define validation coverage Collaborating with internal engineers and external vendors/design partners to drive design reviews and testing Conducting debug and root-cause analysis, providing recommendations for corrective actions Selecting and advocating for a robust testing and validation platform that ensure test progress, coverage, and data is accessible by other teams for traceability and planning Creating and maintaining comprehensive validation documentation, including protocols, reports, and quality specifications Establishing repeatable processes to ensure high reliability across current and future hardware designs Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field 3+ years of experience in hardware validation, test engineering, or product qualification Strong ability to design, execute, and document validation plans Skilled in reading and interpreting datasheets, schematics, and specifications Proficiency with test equipment and automation tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power/load testers, Python or similar scripting) Work with partners to ensure complete testing coverage and compliance Experience collaborating with external vendors and design partners on validation and test work Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience in kiosk hardware, industrial hardware, or other high-reliability systems Familiarity with camera modules, USB hub boards, or power delivery systems Familiarity with environmental, thermal, or lifecycle stress testing Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus for communicating with some manufacturing partners What We Offer An opportunity to work on a small, multidisciplinary team with the potential to break new ground in many different industries Excellent health, dental and vision insurance for you and your dependents 401k plan Flexible PTO policy Catered lunch in office with fully stocked snacks and beverages Pet insurance for your fur babies Voluntary life insurance plan Competitive salary and options in a small, rapidly scaling company Additional Information Mashgin is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Compensation For roles based in San Jose, CA, the overall market range for Mashgin is typically $145,000 - $165,000 USD annually. Note that total compensation for this position will be determined by candidate’s relevant qualifications, work experience, skills, and other relevant factors. This estimate excludes the value of any benefits offered by Mashgin, and the potential future value of any other long-term incentives.
