Health Information Management Technician
About the position The Health Information Management Technician at St. Luke's Health System is responsible for managing electronic medical records with accuracy and efficiency. This role involves verifying, importing, prepping, scanning, and maintaining patient health information while ensuring compliance with regulations and documentation standards. The technician will interact with a high volume of patients and healthcare facilities, supporting continuity of care through timely release of medical records. Responsibilities • Verifying, importing, prepping, scanning, and maintaining patient health information. • Managing ITR requests, including imaging imports/exports, email exchanges, and scanning reports to PACs. • Creating radiologist session lists and interacting with a high volume of patients and facilities weekly. • Validating medical record completeness, assigning deficiencies, and notifying providers of incomplete or delinquent records. • Ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and documentation standards. • Indexing documentation, creating encounters/orders, and maintaining accurate health records. • Communicating with physicians, office staff, and healthcare facilities. • Processing requests for health information and ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines. • Supporting continuity of care through timely release of medical records. Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent. • 1 year experience.
