Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Days (United States of America) Reports to title: Director or Manager, Medical Library # Direct reports: 0 Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position Under the supervision of Library Services leadership, the Health Sciences Librarian assists library patrons with reference questions and literature searches. The Librarian develops and promotes library programs, instructional materials, and Libguides. The Librarian supports Academic Affairs projects and committees as assigned by the Director. Essential Job Functions • Assists patrons with questions, identifying potential information sources, literature searching and database instruction for students and faculty. • Conducts one-on-one research consultations for students, residents, fellows, faculty and associates. • Conducts mediated searches for faculty research projects. • Responds to chat, e-mail, telephone and in-person requests for information and research at the information desk. • Develops and implements programs and tutorials to increase awareness of library resources. • Creates instructional materials such as displays, handouts, and Libguides to highlight collections and services. • Contribute to collection development decisions for physical and online collections. • Assists with cataloging of library resources and the archives. • Prepares reports regarding library operations and projections. Employment Qualifications Education Qualifications Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree with experience.
