Healthcare Controller

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. We are a behavioral health company based in Arizona and Idaho treating mental health and substance use. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. This is a key leadership role that requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to our leadership team. Duties: • Perform account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data. • Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. • Audits when needed. • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models to support strategic planning and decision making. • Manage the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices. • Oversee corporate accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end close processes. • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements and be familiar with GAAP standards. • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. • Provide guidance and support to finance team members, promoting professional development and growth. Requirements: • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred) Experience: • Health care accounting experience is strongly preferred • Knowledge of insurance billing and revenue cycle management. INN, OON, and behavioral health is preferred. • Preferred work from home experience, self motivated. • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or managerial capacity. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks online, and Microsoft Excel. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to lead team members in a positive and productive manner. • Ability to communicate, problem-solve, and work effectively with a team providing expertise or general claims knowledge and support to resolve claims errors/issues. • Ability to analyze and identify trends and present and prepare reports, as necessary. • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. • Excellent customer service skills. • AR projections. • Knowledge of book keeping. • Knowledge on moving from cash to accrual. • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
