About the position The HIM Optimization & Technology position serves as a subject matter expert for Health Information Management (HIM). This role involves identifying, mapping, measuring, analyzing, and improving clinical and business processes for assigned applications. The position requires performing workflow analysis, developing test plans, and facilitating software transitions to ensure successful system utilization. The incumbent will collaborate with IT to translate user requirements into functional specifications and maintain process documentation. Additionally, the role includes developing training modules and consulting with various stakeholders to resolve issues related to applications and functionality. Responsibilities • Identifies, maps, measures, analyzes and improves clinical and business processes for assigned application(s). • Performs current and future workflow analysis and maps out critical business processes using industry standards and best practices. • Develops test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate performance of clinical/business functions. • Conducts effective unit, integration, and end-user acceptance testing. • Facilitates clinical/business practice processes for successful software transitions and system utilization. • Identifies and analyzes opportunities for application product development and optimization. • Translates user requirements into functional design specifications in collaboration with IT. • Develops and maintains process documentation including workflows, requirements, and user manuals. • Reviews data integrity and audits reports to identify/resolve potential issues. • Develops end user training/education modules and delivers training on system capabilities. • Consults with providers, leadership, and clinicians to identify problems and resolutions. • Provides input into project timelines and ensures projects are completed successfully. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Computer Science or related field. • Typically requires 3 years of experience in business process mapping, analysis, and documentation. • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) for HIM/HB Support Analysts. • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) for PB Support Analysts. • Experience with application users, vendors, and providing operational support for clinical systems. • Project management experience and ability to use project management software. • Strong analytical skills to make recommendations based on data analysis. • Ability to balance multiple tasks and set appropriate priorities. • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
