Role Description The role of the Compliance Specialist is to assist in the daily compliance-related activities of the organization. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for managing and reviewing medical records, preparing for and participating in internal audits, and following directives from the Director of Compliance for addressing various compliance concerns. In addition, the Compliance Specialist will prepare for and participate in external payor audit activities, as applicable, and may work with the clinical leadership and Human Resources department on investigations and special projects. • Position may be remote based; candidates must reside in any of the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and/or Wisconsin. Responsibilities • Understands and abides by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines as well as widely accepted industry ethical standards. • Communicates and collaborates on an ongoing basis with the Director of Compliance. • Follows guidance and mentorship of the Director of Compliance and other InBloom senior leadership team members, as applicable. • Acts as liaison between the Compliance Department and clinicians on matters relating to compliance-related clinical integrity, ethical standards, and best practices. • Participates and coordinates reviews of external audits ensuring compliance with payor policies and guidelines. • Participates in and prepares materials related to relevant policies, procedures, and documentation for accreditation and external audit needs, as applicable. • Participates in and prepares ongoing quarterly internal review of clinical documentation using established criteria. • Participates in quality improvement measures. • Remains familiar and competent with current InBloom policies and procedures. • Works with and collaborates with all departments and regions as needed. • Assists with investigating and/or responding to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct, as applicable. • Organizes, tracks, and verifies corrective action plans are implemented and are followed. • Performs other related duties as assigned, based on business need. Qualifications • BACB Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) required. • A Master’s degree in special education, psychology, or related field, with specialized knowledge of behavioral health and treatment philosophies and professional practices. • Displays extensive knowledge and training in behavior analysis. • Displays extensive knowledge of BACB code of ethics and industry ethical standards. • A minimum of one year working with children with autism spectrum disorders. • A demonstrated understanding of medical documentation requirements. Work Environment • Remote or Hybrid Physical Demands • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Travel Required • None.
