Job Description: Position Summary The Trailer Repairman performs diagnostics and repair on trailer air brake systems, completes preventive maintenance inspections, and supports safe and reliable fleet operations. The role also involves welding and cutting tasks and requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced shop environment. Key Responsibilities • Diagnose, repair, and test trailer air brake systems, valves, lines, and components • Perform preventive maintenance inspections to company and regulatory standards • Complete welding and cutting tasks on structural and light metal repairs • Document findings, parts usage, and repair steps with accuracy and detail • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all shop safety procedures • Use shop equipment and hand tools safely and effectively • Communicate repair status, parts needs, and timelines to leadership Required Qualifications • Air brake system knowledge with hands on diagnostic and repair experience • One year of automotive or fleet maintenance experience • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform frequent standing, bending, and reaching • Ability to furnish your own basic hand tools • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality Preferred Qualifications • Commercial Driver License not required but preferred • Basic welding and cutting experience with oxyfuel or MIG • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and documentation standards Work Environment • Shop setting with exposure to moving vehicles, equipment, and moderate noise • Use of required personal protective equipment Other Criteria: • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself - Required Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position is $33.86 per hour. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions. Hired applicants are eligible for weekly pay, extensive training, 401(K), defined-benefit pension plan, medical-dental and vision after waiting and or probation period, $0 healthcare premium, paid vacation, paid sick and family and medical leave time as required by law, paid holidays, discounted employee stock purchase program.
