Hybrid Medical Scribe - Sugarland and Southwest

Description Oncology Consultants PA is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Medical Scribe to support our physicians during patient visits by accurately documenting clinical information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The Medical Scribe will shadow physicians throughout clinic visits, enter verbal orders, transcribe dictation, and prepare visit notes for physician review and electronic signature. This role plays a vital part in ensuring seamless communication between the physician and the care team, including Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), Medical Assistants, and Infusion Nurses. The ideal candidate will be proficient in medical terminology, possess strong data entry and computer skills, and have excellent interpersonal communication abilities. Benefits: • Insurances: Life, medical, dental, short-term term and long-term disability • 401K • Free parking • PTO • Holidays • Competitive Salary • Employee Assistant Program • Tuition Reimbursement • Continuing Medical Education Allowance • Pet Insurance • Employee Discounts • Next Level PRIME Requirements Essential Functions: • Accompany the physician into the patient examination room to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present. • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, follow-up visits and instructions, and prepare nonopioid prescriptions as dictated by the physician. • Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc. • Document any procedures performed by the physician. • Prepare and organize data for new patients and established patients’ visit prior to the patient encounter. • To scribe for the APPs covering the MD as needed. • Maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times. • Adhere to employer work practices. • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management. • Document work processes as required. • Perform other duties as assigned (ex. Documentation of quality measures, etc.) Experience: • Six (6) months experience as a Medical Scribe. • Six (6) months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills: 1. Medical terminology. • Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details. • Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications. • Ability to accurately record information. • Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow. • Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families • Other Requirements: • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively. • Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy and stressful situation. • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing. • Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including but not limited to standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance. • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers. • Physical Requirements: • Hearing: adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. • Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. • Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
