Primary Skills: Metadata (Expert), Taxonomies (Expert), Information Architecture (Advanced), Data Modeling (Intermediate), Smartlogic (Intermediate) Contract Type: W2 Only Duration: 3 Months contract with possibility of extension Location: #LI-Remote (The person should be able to work ET hours or PT hours) Pay Range: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour on W2 #LP Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Information Architect/Taxonomist to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive taxonomy and metadata framework for internal knowledge. This role involves close collaboration with data and analytics teams, subject matter experts, and various stakeholders to ensure our content and data are logically categorized and consistent. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in information science, information architecture, or library science, alongside a proven track record in creating and managing enterprise taxonomies and metadata. Key Responsibilities: • Design and implement structured taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and metadata schemas for internal content and data. • Collaborate with data teams, experts, and stakeholders to assess, implement, and oversee a taxonomy and metadata framework. • Propose enhancements to the current content management system for seamless integration of the taxonomy and metadata framework. • Develop comprehensive documentation and training materials for new taxonomies and content administrators. • Continuously maintain and update the taxonomy and metadata framework to accommodate evolving business needs. Must-Have Skills: • Experience in creating and maintaining enterprise taxonomies and metadata. • Strong foundation in information science, information architecture, or library science. • Proficiency in analyzing user needs, content, and data to craft effective taxonomies and metadata strategies. Industry Experience: • Experience with data modeling and information structure design. • Prior involvement in training and change management regarding information architecture. • Familiarity with Smartlogic or similar taxonomy management tools is highly desirable.
