Interim Senior Counsel, Global Contracts (100% Remote, EST or CST)
Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Senior Counsel, Global Contracts (100% Remote / Eastern or Central Time Zone). This is a long-term contract that will last 12+ months with extension possibility and is full-time 40+ hours per week. Overview: Our client is seeking a full-time attorney to lead the negotiation of complex commercial transactions with internal strategic partners and sales teams. Negotiate global client contracts, SaaS, Cloud Subscription Agreements and MSA’s. Advise senior business stakeholders, including sales, finance, implementation, service and operations, on contract strategy, legal risk and risk mitigation. Company: Global Human Resources Technology Company Experience: Successful candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years legal experience, with AMLAW 200 background and in-house experience, with specific emphasis on contract negotiation, contract drafting, and analysis and management of contractual risk. Must have experience working with high-performing sales teams, under pressure. A self-motivated leader. Location: 100% Remote. Must work in Eastern Time Zone and with European Time Zones. Responsibilities Include: • Utilize balanced lawyering to efficiently and effectively draft, negotiate and close a wide variety of large, complex commercial transactions with the internal sales team. Negotiate global procurement agreements and MSA renewal agreements. • Work effectively with business development, strategy, sales, finance and business leadership to reach a successful outcome in contract negotiations. • Interface with all levels of personnel to advise on contract-related matters and ensure contract terms are consistent with our client’s business practices and policies. Qualifications Include: • Prior large law firm experience in a sourcing group or represented or worked for a large IT or BPO company supporting sales for mega deals. • Successful candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of relevant legal experience, with AMLAW 200 background and some in house experience, with specific emphasis on contract negotiation, outsourcing and technology transactions, analysis and management of contractual risk. • Licensed to practice in at least one state. • Comfortable drafting contracts from scratch • Can work independently, but also a team player • PERSONALITY: A self-motivated leader who is extremely responsive and knows how to figure out how to get things done. A strong, steady presence that can’t be steamrolled by the sales team and a good communicator. Warm, friendly and approachable. Not timid. Problems solver and not afraid to go searching for information they need to close a deal.
