IT Desktop Support Engineer

Job Title: IT Desktop Support Engineer Location: Remote – USA Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled IT Desktop Support Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in SharePoint Administration to join our remote IT team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive desktop support services to end-users, manage SharePoint environments, and ensure the smooth operation of IT systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users. Key Responsibilities: - Provide remote desktop and application support to users across the organization. - Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues on Windows and macOS environments. - Manage and maintain SharePoint environments, including user access, permissions, workflows, and content management. - Support and troubleshoot Office 365 applications, Teams, Outlook, and related Microsoft technologies. - Perform regular system updates, patches, and security monitoring. - Maintain IT asset inventory and ensure compliance with company policies and security standards. - Document technical procedures, knowledge base articles, and support processes. - Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve escalated issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. - Provide end-user training and support for new technologies and systems. Job Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Minimum 8 years of experience administering Microsoft SharePoint (on-premises and/or SharePoint Online). - 3+ years of experience providing Tier 2/Tier 3 IT desktop support in a corporate environment. - Expertise in SharePoint site creation, permissions management, workflows, and document libraries. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Intune). - Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and basic PowerShell scripting. - Familiarity with endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, Intune, JAMF). - Solid understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, DHCP). - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-resolution skills. - Strong customer service orientation and communication skills. - Ability to work independently in a remote environment. - Highly organized with attention to detail and documentation. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
