The Azure Architect serves as a strategic technical leader for Go West IT clients, shaping and guiding the design, delivery, and optimization of secure, scalable cloud solutions. Working closely with internal teams and client stakeholders, the Azure Architect leads advanced Azure and hybrid cloud initiatives—including architectural design, modernization, migrations, and integration—while also providing expert support for complex Azure infrastructure and networking challenges. Reporting to a Managing Engineer, they apply deep cloud architecture expertise, structured planning, and proactive problem-solving to ensure successful outcomes across cloud environments. The Azure Architect champions best practices, drives innovation, and delivers consultative guidance that enables clients to realize the full value of Microsoft Azure and modern cloud capabilities. Responsibilities • Daily interaction with multiple clients to troubleshoot, plan, and implement IT solutions • Acting as a primary engineer for multiple clients, learning their environment, leading projects, and taking high level escalations • Advanced escalation triage and ticket management for optimal SLA delivery • Mentorship, guidance, and collaboration with your colleagues • Scoping and leadership of projects • Submission of timely, thorough, and accurate billable labor entries for invoicing • Opportunities to be involved with and support ongoing customer projects • Translate business requirements into Azure architecture blueprints following the Well-Architected Framework and Cloud Adoption Framework • Define governance models: management groups, subscriptions, resource groups, tagging, and Azure Policy/Blueprints for compliance • Design Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) strategies: Conditional Access, hybrid identity, RBAC, Privileged Identity Management (PIM) • Implement Zero Trust principles across workloads • Architect hubspoke or Virtual WAN topologies, ExpressRoute/VPN, Private Endpoints, DNS, and secure perimeter with Azure Firewall and WAF • Design storage strategies using Blob, Files, Disks, and database services like Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, ensuring redundancy, encryption, and compliance • Create BCDR plans: Azure Backup, Site Recovery, georedundancy, and SLA-aligned failover strategies • Integrate Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault, and managed identities for security posture • Implement observability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights • Design workloads using VMSS, App Services, Functions, and container orchestration with AKS • Optimize for scalability, performance, and cost • Other duties as assigned by the Managing Engineer Requirements • Consistent demonstration of Go West Core Values: Caring, Constant Improvement, Critical Thinking, Execution, and Willingness • A positive, team-oriented approach focused on accomplishing goals together • Willingness to run towards any technical issue with any client as needed • Participation and engagement in weekly meetings to discuss issues, review key performance indicators, and drive progress on quarterly objectives • Previous technical experience with systems/network administration, infrastructure design or consultation, and end-user troubleshooting with an understanding of the pace and demands associated with the industry • Professional, solution-minded, and friendly demeanor with a strength in building strong business relationships internally and externally through excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills • Detail-focused personality with a penchant for organization, documentation, and appreciation of processes • Passionate about providing the highest quality service, committed to going above and beyond, and appreciative of flexibility and a supportive team that freely shares knowledge and perspective • Ability to learn quickly, with a love of taking on new challenges • Ability to prioritize, pivot, and systematically address the needs of Go West’s clients • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in equivalent IT Engineer level role • Active AZ-104 and AZ-305 Certifications • Authorization to work in the United States Nice-to-haves • Proficiency in the following: • Azure Active Directory, Intune configuration and design • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Exchange, Azure Resources, AVD, and Teams Design • Security (i.e. Microsoft Purview) • Consulting/Customer Communication/Project Leadership • AZ-140, AZ-500, SC-100 Certifications Benefits • Opportunity to be an integral part of a TSP and engineering team that is on the cutting edge of technical innovation known for extraordinary results • A fast-paced environment where each day brings different challenges/opportunities and exposure to the latest business technologies • Educational Allowance Program available to help you pursue opportunities that advance your professional career • An Employee Recognition & Rewards program • Fun, company-paid events • A flexible schedule with hybrid options to work remotely 2-3 days per week • A vastly distributed on-call rotation to allow for work-life integration • Full-time position with a competitive salary range of $90,000-$125,000 annually, comprehensive benefits that include paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, public transit, and 401K with generous matching Apply tot his job
