About the position The Infrastructure Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering complex IT infrastructure initiatives within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This US-based role requires strong technical expertise, deep project management capabilities, and experience navigating compliance frameworks such as GxP and CSV. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of hands-on infrastructure project management experience, excels in cross-functional collaboration, and can execute projects in fast-paced, globally distributed environments. M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) experience is a strong plus, particularly for integration, separation, or migration-related infrastructure activities. Responsibilities • Lead full lifecycle planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure projects including network upgrades, data center migrations, cloud adoption, server/storage refreshes, and security remediations. • Prepare project charters, roadmaps, schedules, budgets, and resource plans with precision and clarity. • Maintain ownership of RAID logs (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies) and drive mitigation strategies. • Provide timely project status updates to leadership and ensure alignment with PMO standards. • Manage multiple parallel workstreams while ensuring adherence to schedule, cost, and quality expectations. • Partner with engineering teams to define infrastructure design, implementation strategies, and technical reviews. • Oversee technical deliverables related to network, server, virtualization, cloud, storage, and security components. • Approve and validate technical documentation, qualification packages, and cutover plans. • Support infrastructure lifecycle management, technology modernization, and standardization projects. • Ensure all activities comply with GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, CSV standards, and corporate quality processes. • Work with QA, Compliance, and Validation teams to ensure required documentation (URS, FS, DS, IQ, OQ, PQ, change controls) is accurate and complete. • Support audits, inspections, and CAPAs related to infrastructure systems. • Maintain validated state and ensure traceability across project documentation and change records. • Work closely with business stakeholders, application owners, PMO, quality teams, and infrastructure SMEs. • Coordinate vendor management activities including SOWs, quotes, delivery tracking, and technical validation. • Facilitate communication across global technology teams, ensuring alignment on dependencies and timelines. • Ensure smooth transition from project delivery to operations, including SOP updates, runbook creation, and KT sessions. • Maintain documentation for architecture, support models, and asset lifecycle plans. • Support compliance monitoring, infrastructure KPIs, and operational audits. Requirements • 8+ years of experience managing IT infrastructure projects in enterprise environments. • 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences IT, and familiar with GxP regulations • 8+ years of experience in coordinating distributed/global teams and complex program structures. • 3+ years M&A experience (integration, divestiture, TSA transitions, migration planning) Nice-to-haves • Strong working knowledge of: Networking (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, firewalls) Server technologies (Windows/Linux), virtualization (VMware) Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), identity and access services Storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions End-user services and infrastructure security components • Mastery of project planning, scheduling, resource management, and budgeting. • Experience with MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent PM tools. • Strong vendor and contract management experience. • Deep understanding of change control and ITIL processes. • Working knowledge of GxP, CSV, data integrity principles, and regulated IT environments. • Experience producing and maintaining validation documentation. • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities. • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, high-visibility settings. • Comfortable leading cross-functional teams under strict timelines. • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile project management certification. • ITIL Foundation. • Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) are a plus.
