What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
• Act as a Construction Cost Estimator for standard construction projects, ensuring technical accuracy in plans and cost estimates
• Prepare estimates using bid-based and cost-based methods, utilizing software tools such as AASHTOWare Preconstruction and Microsoft Excel
• Perform bid analyses to detect unbalanced bids, bid rigging, and plan errors
• Assist senior estimators with change orders and Value Engineering Change Proposals analyses
• Travel to construction sites to observe field operations and gain insights for accurate estimating

What is Required (Qualifications):
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering-related technical experience in simple construction, rehabilitation, maintenance projects, or planning and design of civil engineering projects
• Alternatively, an associate degree in engineering technology combined with 3 years of relevant experience
• At least 12 months of experience as a Transportation Technical Specialist or equivalent qualifications
• Technical experience must be commensurate with the position being filled
