Join us as we enable agencies to focus on their primary mission of serving individuals effectively. We’re looking for a motivated Junior .NET Engineer to join our team. You’ll be an essential member of the development team for our product. As a junior engineer at SETWorks, you’ll work on a mission-critical SaaS platform used daily by disability service providers across the country. You’ll gain hands-on experience in a production environment, work closely with senior engineers and support teams, and directly impact the people our software serves. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who enjoys problem-solving, wants exposure to real-world systems, and is excited to grow into a full-stack contributor over time. This is a 100% remote position. We are in North Kansas City, MO and have office space there. We follow EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) and here are our SETWorks values: • Be Empowering • Delight Clients • Go Above and Beyond • Continuously Improve • Own It • Celebrate Successes Our current technology includes: • Backend: C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web API • Frontend: JavaScript, jQuery, React, Telerik UI • Database: SQL Server • Infrastructure: AWS Responsibilities: • Strong foundational SQL skills, including writing raw SQL and understanding JOIN types (INNER, LEFT, etc.). You should be comfortable explaining how and when to use them. Knowledge of ASP.NET - You must have experience in ASP.NET (Either MVC or Web Forms). • As a Junior Engineer, you will help troubleshoot and triage issues as they come into SETWorks. • If you like to troubleshoot and fix issues, this is the job for you. You will make a huge impact for our customers by solving problems for them. • Write code you are proud of. What You’ll Do: • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, React, and SQL Server • Partner closely with our Support team to diagnose and fix customer-reported issues • Contribute production code and participate in code reviews • Be an active member of a development team. Attend daily scrum, technical & business book clubs, company meetings, and virtual team social events. What You’ll Learn: • How a large, mission-critical SaaS platform operates in production • How to debug complex, multi-layer systems • How engineering, support, and product collaborate in a real business environment What we're looking for: • Bachelor’s degree or Applicable Program Experience and functional work experience of at least one year. • Passion for technology, coding, and building things. • Experience with .NET and all things Microsoft (C#, .NET, etc.). • Ability/desire to work at any level of the stack. • Positive attitude, highly energetic and takes initiative. • Great teamwork / soft skills. • Comfort working in a fast-moving, collaborative environment where priorities may shift and ownership matters. What would be a plus: • You enjoy being involved in the Dev/Support process, helping customers, and troubleshooting items. • You have built your own apps/projects/startup from the ground up. • AWS Skills • UI/UX skills • Disability Service Industry experience • Experience in healthcare, human services, or compliance-driven systems Requirements: • Must be authorized to work in the US.
