About the position Lead Fullstack Software Engineer / Architect – Special Projects Location: Remote | Department: Engineering | Reports to: VP of Product & Engineering The Opportunity Are you a hands-on architect with a builder’s mindset? As the Lead Fullstack Software Engineer / Architect on our Special Projects team, you’ll play a critical role in incubating new business ideas, building MVPs, and scaling high-impact platforms. This role is ideal for someone who blends deep technical expertise with product intuition and business savvy. You’ll collaborate directly with stakeholders and other engineers to bring bold ideas to life—quickly, creatively, and with excellence. Responsibilities • Engineer for Impact: Build and launch applications that directly drive revenue, improve patient experience, or unlock new markets. • Architect the Future: Design scalable microservices, serverless systems, and full-stack solutions that can evolve with business needs. • Move Fast, Stay Clean: Rapidly develop MVPs without sacrificing code quality, performance, or security. • Collaborate Deeply: Partner closely with product owners, business leads, and engineers to shape roadmaps and deliver results. • Lead by Example: Set the bar for code quality, design thinking, and technical communication across the team. • Build in the Cloud: Leverage AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, etc.) to build robust serverless solutions. • Stay Curious: Experiment with new technologies, tools, and architectures to continuously raise the bar. • Mentor and Support: Guide junior engineers when needed, but stay hands-on and willing to dive into the codebase. Requirements • 3+ years of experience in fullstack development with React, TypeScript, and Node.js. • Proven track record designing, building, and maintaining complex software systems. • Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, and serverless architectures. • Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, CloudFront, DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, etc.). • Experience with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, AWS CDK preferred). • Comfort debugging and optimizing production environments at scale. • Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Agile best practices. • A 'business-first' engineering mindset—focused on outcomes, not just code. Nice-to-haves • Prior startup or small team experience. • Exposure to ecommerce, healthcare, insurance, or fintech. • Experience building MVPs or launching new products. • Passion for customer experience and creating delightful interfaces.
