Lead Programmer Analyst (3 Positions)

The State University of New York (SUNY) System Administration is searching for multiple IT Lead Programmer Analysts to support various campuses and departments. The role involves enhancing, developing, and maintaining SUNY's administrative systems, with a focus on human resources and finance. Responsibilities Design, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts Develop or modify application systems and procedures to optimize performance Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and analysis Maintain technical expertise in programming languages, databases, and platforms Respond to system failures and performance issues to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence Provide guidance to less-experienced programmers and conduct training sessions for end users Skills Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required Education or knowledge in some or all of the following technologies: Java and Java Frameworks HTML, especially HTML5 JavaScript SQLPL/SQL XML and XSLT Groovy C/Python/PHP JQuery Education or knowledge of Relational Database design principles (Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL) Ability to assume responsibility for less complex systems and analysis of projects involving development of subsystems Ability to formulate programming code in more than one programming logic Ability to multi-task Ability to document systems Good interpersonal and written communication skills Ability to think creatively and solve problems Ability to receive, prioritize, and complete tasks from multiple sources with minimal supervision Oracle application server and development tools Object oriented analysis and design ColdFusion programming language Education or knowledge utilizing Tortoise SVN, GitHub or similar source control repositories Education or knowledge in Business Intelligence or similar solution Education or knowledge in timeline and project management and/or implementation of business and functional requirements Professional or internship experiences a plus Benefits NYS health insurance Free dental and vision coverage Competitive retirement options Tuition assistance Parental leave at full pay Generous vacation, sick, and holiday time 13 days of paid holidays per year 15 days of vacation and 15 days of sick time accrued for the first year of employment Retirement: The choice between a fully funded pension plan and a self-driven defined contribution plan, along with two supplemental plans to increase your ability to save for retirement.
