Legal Rising 2L (Intern)
Cisco’s Legal Experience Acceleration Program offers 1L law students an 11-week internship with exposure to diverse legal practice areas and mentorship. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Work on a variety of legal issues supporting Cisco’s mission to build innovative technologies • Gain experience across multiple legal practice groups and support internal clients • Drive projects enabling the business to develop and sell networking, security, and collaboration products • Obtain practical in-house legal experience in a complex environment • Benefit from exposure to a leading legal department in the evolution of legal practice • Receive hands-on mentoring and coaching to understand the client perspective • Research and deliver an end-of-summer project to Cisco Legal's Senior Leadership Team About You The company is looking for: • Currently enrolled as a 1L law student at an ABA-accredited law school for the 2025/2026 academic year • Available to start the internship cohort on May 18, 2026 • Legal authorization to live and work in the country of application without visa sponsorship during internship and potential rotation • Focused attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively • Outstanding organizational and communication skills • Strong interest in pursuing a legal career as an in-house attorney Compensation & Benefits • Salary range for U.S. locations: $44,000 to $185,000 depending on location and role • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) plan with Cisco matching contributions • Paid parental leave • Short and long-term disability coverage • Basic life insurance • Paid time off including 10 holidays, 1 floating holiday (non-exempt), birthday off, year-end shutdown, and 4 personal wellness days • 16 days paid vacation for non-exempt employees; flexible vacation for exempt employees • 80 hours sick time on hire and annually, with carryover • Additional paid time off for family emergencies • 10 paid volunteer days annually • Eligibility for Cisco restricted stock units • Annual bonuses for non-sales roles; performance-based incentives for sales roles Training & Development • Access to skills training and career development resources • One-on-one executive mentorship • Networking opportunities with Cisco team members Career Progression • Successful completion of the Rising 2L internship leads to a Rising 3L summer internship • Followed by a 2-year rotation program after law school graduation • Ultimate placement in a legal function to begin an in-house legal career at Cisco How to Apply Applicants may be contacted directly by a Cisco representative if a relevant position opens.
