Licensed Financial Services Examiner - multiple levels!
The State of Wisconsin is seeking detail-oriented individuals for the position of Licensed Financial Services Examiner within the Department of Financial Institutions. This role involves conducting examinations, investigating complaints, and analyzing financial reports to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Responsibilities Conduct examinations of financial reports and statements of licensees regulated by the Licensed Financial Services Bureau Review licensee’s financial statements, annual reports, and business activity records in detail to determine compliance with laws, regulations, and rules Analyze financial statements to determine financial stability and responsibility Prepare reports to summarize and present examination findings, identifying specific violations of laws and regulations, weaknesses in the licensee’s financial condition, and fitness of the licensee’s management Ensure records are complete, up to date, and accurate, and work to resolve issues with the licensee if problems are detected Skills Interpreting or applying regulations, policies and/or procedures Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and/or other financial software (i.e. accounting software, loan/bank/collections account software, etc.) Professional work experience performing financial, banking, bookkeeping, lending, insurance, marketing, investing, or similar functions or related educational coursework Professional work experience and/or college degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or closely related business area Analyzing financial statements to identify trends or evaluate an entity Applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Completing auditing procedures Performing one or more of the following for collection agencies, adjustment service companies, or money transmitters: leading examinations of financial entities, reviewing license applications, investigating complaints, and/or assisting in license renewals Analyzing financial statements, management practices, policies, and compliance programs Independently leading examinations of large complex collection agencies, adjustment service companies, and/or money transmitters Providing training to/mentoring lower-level examiners Independently evaluating an entity's information technology/information security program Benefits Substantial leave time including at least 3.5 weeks of paid leave time to start, 9 paid holidays, and 130 hours of sick time that roll over each year.
