The Role - Mainframe Analyst As a Mainframe Analyst, you will be responsible for extracting business logic from existing programs, documenting business rules, and collaborating with internal and external groups. You will work closely with our team to analyze, design, code, test, and document application code. You will also participate in maintenance, enhancement, and development work, as well as provide technical expertise to the Information Technology Office and the Business unit. Key Responsibilities: Extract business logic from existing programs written in COBOL/CICS/DB2 and document business rules Analyze, design, code, test, and document application code Collaborate with internal and external groups to develop technical solutions Participate in maintenance, enhancement, and development work Provide technical expertise to the Information Technology Office and the Business unit Develop and deliver new or modified programs, code Stored Procedures, and unit test work Participate in system testing with users and develop supportive documentation Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Essential Qualifications: 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study 5+ years of overall technical and IT experience 5+ years of hands-on experience in coding, testing, and debugging programs written in COBOL/CICS/DB2 Experience with IBM OS/JCL (MVS) and IBM/DB2 Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in usability testing and developing supportive documentation Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IDMS/DC to CICS, IDMS to DB2 conversions Experience in APPC/LU 6.2 or MQ Programming in Cobol-CICS Experience in coding complex DB2 Stored Procedures Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to have: Technical skills : COBOL, CICS, DB2, IBM OS/JCL (MVS), IBM/DB2 Analytical skills : ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop creative solutions Communication skills : excellent verbal and written communication skills Collaboration skills : ability to work effectively with internal and external groups Attention to detail : ability to accurately document business rules and technical specifications Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits We are committed to the growth and development of our team members.
