Manager - Business Development

Astrana Health is currently seeking a highly motivated Manager - Business Development to support corporate leadership in market expansion initiatives within the healthcare industry. This hybrid role involves establishing relationships with providers, driving membership growth, and executing business development strategies. Responsibilities Implement and execute Astrana Health’s business development, growth, and payer strategies within an assigned region, supporting corporate leadership in market expansion initiatives Establish and manage relationships with field marketing organizations (FMOs), agencies, and independent agents, aligning them with contracted and target providers to drive membership growth and panel acquisition Recruit, onboard, and develop relationships with new primary care physicians and specialists, expanding Astrana Health’s provider network and increasing access points for patient growth Drive provider panel growth by identifying opportunities for panel expansion, optimizing agent-to-provider alignment, and supporting value-based growth initiatives Coordinate closely with Provider Contracting and Network Management teams to ensure timely execution of provider agreements and smooth onboarding of new physicians Meet regularly with providers, practice leadership, and office staff to support growth strategies, contract execution, and adherence to benchmarks across value-based care programs Attend industry events, physician networking meetings, and community outreach activities to promote Astrana Health and generate new provider and referral relationships Develop and execute outbound sales and business development strategies, including processes, tracking mechanisms, and best practices to support scalable growth Track and analyze regional performance metrics related to provider recruitment, agent productivity, membership growth, and panel acquisition; report results against quarterly and annual targets Serve as a regional growth ambassador, working independently with limited direction while remaining accountable to established goals and objectives Support departmental and organizational growth goals under the leadership of the VP – Operations, ensuring alignment with Astrana Health’s strategic priorities Skills Bachelor's degree in business administration, health administration or related field Bilingual English/Spanish required 0-2 years of relevant work experience in sales, provider relations, business development, relationship management, etc. in a health care related field Solid history of quickly gaining credibility and trust and partnering with physicians or medical groups Requires experience and comprehension of Medicare and Marketplace lines of business Requires knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Power Point and Word Have a General Lines License from the state of Texas or strong working knowledge of insurance compliance 3+ years of relevant work experience in sales, business development, relationship management, etc. in a health care related field Extensive experience with managed care organizations (e.g., medical group operations, IPA's, etc.) Resourcefulness—the ability to find and implement effective solutions despite time or resource constraints Sound judgement, ability to analyze situations and information, problem solver Ability to work independently with little guidance, as well as collaboratively in a collegial environment with business team members and external stakeholders Company Overview Leading physician-centric, technology-powered, risk-bearing healthcare mgmt. company delivering high quality care in a cost-effective manner It was founded in 2001, and is headquartered in Alhambra, California, USA, with a workforce of 1001-5000 employees.
