About the position The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) is seeking a summer intern to support projects and research on pressing health and health care issues. The intern will work closely with staff within the Leadership Consortium and focus on various portfolios including Evidence & Data Action Collaborative, Digital Health & AI Action Collaborative, Value Incentives & Systems Action Collaborative, and Trust & Engagement Action Collaborative. This position is intended for college students with an interest in science, engineering, medicine, or business operations to gain knowledge and on-the-job training. Responsibilities • Perform administrative tasks including creating and maintaining databases and files. • Assist with meeting preparation as needed. • Proofread and copyedit documents. • Conduct subject-oriented literature searches and gather references. • Participate in research efforts including data collection, assembly, and summarizing literature. • Assist in analyzing basic research results. • Undertake short-term projects to enhance ongoing study projects. Requirements • Current enrollment in a graduate degree college or university program. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to solve problems with supervisory consultation or by following procedures. • Ability to prioritize work and adapt to changing directions. • Ability to work successfully in a team environment. • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Benefits • Compensation of $18.50 per hour, plus potential overtime. • Hybrid office/telecommute environment with expected onsite percentage of 60%. • Opportunity to gain experience in a collaborative environment.
