.NET Developer (1099 | Part-Time | Fully Remote - EST)

BNL Consulting is seeking an experienced .NET Developer to support a new federal contract for a civilian agency within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This role supports a production application used by real stakeholders and focuses on steady, high-quality enhancements rather than greenfield experimentation. This position is well-suited for an experienced .NET developer who is comfortable supporting existing systems, working independently, and delivering reliable enhancements in a federal environment. The work is fully remote, with collaboration occurring during Eastern Time business hours. This is a 1099 engagement, funded for one year, averaging 28 hours per week, with the potential for extension based on contract needs and performance. What You’ll Be Doing You will support and enhance an existing ASP.NET application, working across backend development, data access, and deployment activities. Day-to-day work includes: • Developing and enhancing applications built with ASP.NET AJAX and C# • Supporting data-driven functionality using Microsoft SQL Server • Assisting with the deployment and operation of containerized .NET applications • Working within an AWS-hosted environment • Collaborating with a small, experienced technical team to implement enhancements and resolve issues • Participating in lightweight Agile planning and technical discussions as needed Required Qualifications • US Citizenship (required for federal contract eligibility) • Ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust clearance for a civilian federal agency within HHS • 4+ years of professional experience with: • ASP.NET (including AJAX) • C# / .NET • Microsoft SQL Server • Experience running and deploying .NET applications in containerized environments • Experience working in AWS • Ability to work independently in a part-time consulting role • Availability to work on an Eastern Time (EST) schedule Nice to Have • Additional experience with .NET containerized applications • Experience creating or maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines • Deeper familiarity with AWS services used for application hosting and deployment About Us BNL Consulting, founded in 2007, is a cloud-first solutions partner delivering secure, scalable, and user-centered applications across industries.
