Network Deployment Lead, DCC Communities
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a leader in the cloud computing industry, and they are seeking a motivated Network Deployment Project Lead to join their Infrastructure Delivery team. The role involves end-to-end ownership of medium to large-scale Data Center cabling deployments, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously. Responsibilities Initial cabling planning, installation, validation, and quality assessment Engaging external contractors including newly onboarded cabling vendors Planning and working with a wide range of project stakeholders to determine device and cabling requirements, scheduling resources to meet project timelines, engage external vendors, and continuous status reporting Installation of, racking and stacking networking devices, running and patching fiber cabling, and configuring devices using automation tools and the command line interface Validation, device troubleshooting and stress testing prior to capacity delivery Willingness to travel up to 50% including some local and international assignments throughout AMER Skills 1+ years of computer networking experience 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Experience in computer networking Experience working with Linux operating systems Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair Knowledge of network design, protocols and troubleshooting Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment) Benefits Medical Financial Other benefits Company Overview Launched in 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began exposing key infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now widely known as cloud computing.
