Candidates in AZ/NV may also be considered) Position: Civil Litigation / Healthcare Defense Associate Salary: $135,000 – $200,000+ (based on experience) Highlights: • True Growth & Promotions – Proven record of internal advancement. Partners are invested in mentorship and team collaboration. • Recession-Proof Practice – Healthcare and medical malpractice defense is a stable, growing field with rates rising faster than other insurance defense areas. • Trial & Arbitration Experience – Opportunities to build your litigation craft: pre-COVID the team handled 6 trials & 12 arbitrations annually; now ~1 trial & 6–8 arbitrations. • Stable Client Base – Long-standing clients, including direct HMO relationships like Kaiser. • Interesting, Complex Work – Work closely with highly skilled professionals (doctors, healthcare providers, and doctor-lawyers) across a broad spectrum of healthcare-related matters. ⚖️ The Role: • Handle a variety of civil defense litigation with a focus on healthcare and medical malpractice cases. • Manage matters independently with full ownership while collaborating with a supportive team. • Opportunities to take cases to arbitration and trial. • Exposure to licensing issues, general liability claims, and medical-based disputes. • Work with experienced trial attorneys who are committed to developing and promoting their team. Salary & Perks: • Competitive base salary: $135,000 – $200,000+ depending on level • Quarterly bonuses: $75/hour for all billables over 1,900 annually (calculated quarterly, not cumulative) • Billables: 1,900 minimum annually (~158 hours/month) • Remote first: 100% remote work, with no mandatory office requirement • Mentorship and hands-on development, despite a high-volume practice • Long-term growth opportunities within a highly regarded defense team Requirements: • 2–10 years litigation experience (civil litigation, insurance defense, or general liability). • California Bar admission required (other West Coast states may be considered).
