Job Summary We are seeking a full-time Nursing Academic Coach to provide academic support and guidance to nursing students in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (ADN), and Vocational Nursing (VN) programs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. As a Nursing Academic Coach, you will be responsible for providing academic remediation, facilitating student academic development, and assisting students with study skills, test-taking strategies, and computer software. Key Responsibilities Provide academic support and guidance to nursing students in BSN, ADN, and VN programs Develop and implement effective enrichment materials and methods to enhance student learning Remediate referred nursing students and facilitate student academic development Assist students with study skills, priority setting, and test-taking strategies, including HESI NCLEX-RN test-taking strategies Develop, manage, and direct a peer tutorial program as needed Evaluate the tutoring system for continuous improvement Keep current on knowledge of relevant nursing theory and clinical issues, as well as teaching methods Attend Department Committee and Faculty Council meetings as deemed necessary Complete other duties as assigned Requirements Essential Qualifications: Master's Degree in Nursing or related field with at least 6 graduate semester hours in Nursing A minimum of two years working as a Registered Nurse (RN) Texas Registered Nurse License Clear criminal history with no felony record Clear drug screen Preferred Qualifications: Associate Degree level teaching experience A minimum of 3 years academic educational experience Tutoring experience preferred Standardized testing and best practices for remediation experience Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities Knowledge of nursing theory and clinical nursing skills Principles and practices of teaching Training techniques Detailed knowledge of material being taught in specific course and program areas Student engagement techniques Record keeping procedures Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Workwarp, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
