Ongoing Bookkeeper Needed (QuickBooks Online) – Clean Books, Detail-Focused, Analytics-Minded
I’m looking for a reliable, detail-oriented bookkeeper to take over ongoing bookkeeping for my business. The books are **clean and well-maintained**, and this is a **handover from a previous bookkeeper** who became too busy — not a cleanup project. Everything is done in **QuickBooks Online**, and I’m looking for someone who enjoys structure, consistency, and helping turn clean data into useful insights. • *What this role looks like:** - Ongoing monthly bookkeeping in **QuickBooks Online** - Categorizing transactions and invoices - I’ll often hand off invoices and simply tell you which **tag/class/category** to apply — efficiency and accuracy matter more than guesswork - Reconciling accounts - Keeping things organized and audit-ready • *What I care about most:** - **Attention to detail** (this is non-negotiable) - Comfort working inside QBO weekly - Strong understanding of categories, classes, tags, and how to structure books for reporting - Interest in **further delineation** of expenses so we can actually learn from the data • *Reporting & Insights (important):** I want to get more value out of my books — especially around: - How much I’m spending on **specific events** (trade shows, travel, launches, etc.) - Better breakdowns of operational vs. event-driven costs - Clean, consistent data that makes reporting easy later You don’t need to be a CFO, but you *do* need to think beyond “just categorizing transactions.” • *Nice to have (but not required):** - Experience working with small businesses or founder-led companies - Comfort suggesting improvements to categories or structure (with discussion first) - Experience preparing books for CPA handoff • *Engagement details:** - Ongoing, long-term relationship preferred - Monthly workload is reasonable and consistent - I value clear communication and responsiveness If this sounds like a good fit, please include: - Your experience with **QuickBooks Online** - How you typically handle tagging / categorization for reporting - An example of how you’ve helped a client get *better insights* from their books Looking forward to finding someone solid I can trust and work with long-term.
