Online Safety and Risk Management Consultant Location: Remote Salary: USD 80,000 – $120,000 annually, depending on experience Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Online Safety and Risk Management Consultant to join our team in a remote capacity. The successful candidate will be pivotal in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive online safety and risk management strategies. This role demands expertise in identifying and mitigating risks associated with digital platforms and the ability to provide actionable insights to enhance the organization’s overall safety and security posture. Key Responsibilities: • Risk Assessment and Analysis: • Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and threats associated with online platforms and digital interactions. • Analyze emerging trends in cyber threats and online risks to stay ahead of potential security challenges. • Develop and maintain risk assessment frameworks and methodologies tailored to the organization’s needs. • Policy Development and Implementation: • Create, review, and update online safety and risk management policies and procedures. • Ensure policies align with industry best practices, legal requirements, and organizational objectives. • Develop guidelines and protocols for safe online behavior and risk mitigation. • Incident Management: • Lead the response to online safety incidents, including data breaches, cyber-attacks, and other security-related events. • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. • Prepare detailed incident reports and provide recommendations for improving future response efforts. • Training and Awareness: • Design and deliver training programs to educate employees, stakeholders, and users on online safety best practices and risk management strategies. • Create educational materials to promote awareness and compliance, including manuals, e-learning modules, and newsletters. • Regular workshops and seminars should be conducted to inform staff about the latest threats and prevention techniques. • Compliance and Auditing: • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks related to online safety and data protection. • Perform regular audits of online safety measures and risk management practices to identify areas for improvement. • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address gaps and ensure legal and regulatory requirements adherence. • Technology Evaluation and Implementation: • Evaluate and recommend technological solutions to enhance online safety and risk management efforts. • Oversee the implementation of security tools, software, and platforms designed to protect digital assets and user information. • Stay updated on advancements in security technologies and integrate them into existing systems as appropriate. • Stakeholder Engagement: • I work closely with various IT, legal, HR, and customer service departments to address online safety and risk management concerns. • Engage with external stakeholders, such as industry groups and regulatory bodies, to stay informed about best practices and emerging threats. • Provide expert guidance and support to senior management on online safety and risk-related matters. • Reporting and Documentation: • Prepare comprehensive reports on online safety metrics, risk assessments, and incident investigations. • Maintain detailed records of policies, procedures, training activities, and compliance efforts. • Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of online safety initiatives and risk management activities. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are highly desirable. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in online safety, risk management, or cybersecurity roles, with a proven track record of managing risk in a digital environment. • Strong understanding of online threats, vulnerabilities, and risk management practices. • Experience with risk assessment tools, incident response procedures, and compliance frameworks. • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences. • Proficiency in developing and delivering training programs and educational materials. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote work setting. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to risk management.
